FAQ
Specs and items questions
What can I record for each finish?
A photo, the product or finish name, the room or area, the category, the code, the vendor, the quantity and the unit price. Only the name is required.
What does my client see for each item?
Each item on their link, with your option photos while they choose, then its progress from ordered to fitted. The vendor, quantity and unit price are shown too.
What if a fitted item is not right?
Tap Not OK and say what is wrong, for example a scratch on the left door. It stays Not OK until you tap Fixed. Your client can also say Not right on their link and add a photo.
Can I change an item after it is ordered?
Not in place. A team member or the owner can replace it with a reason, which sends it back to your client to choose again. The owner can cancel the order with a reason, and undo that later.
Get your finishes signed off
Your client chooses on their link. You track the rest.
More about specs and items
Material selections your client signs off
Interior projects run on hundreds of small decisions: the floor tile, the laminate, the paint shade, the handles. The Specs tab keeps each one as a selection with a photo and its details, and your client approves it, or asks for a change, on their client link. A change comes back with their note, so you see exactly what they want.
If you edit a selection your client already answered, it goes back to them for a fresh approval, so the record never drifts from what was agreed. Group the list by room or by category, whichever suits the job.
From chosen to checked
Place a finish in a stage of the plan and it becomes an item you can track: chosen, ordered, delivered, fitted, then checked. Anyone on the team can move it along, and a bar shows where it is, such as Step 3 of 5: Delivered.
At fitted, check it on site. It is OK closes it; Not OK records what is wrong until you tap Fixed. Your client can check it too and say Looks good or Not right, with a note and a photo.
Why a finish schedule in Excel is not enough
A spreadsheet finish schedule shows what was planned, but not what the client approved, when, or whether it arrived in one piece. Photos sit in a chat and the order status sits in someone's head. In Blueprint the photo, the approval, the order and the site check sit on the same item.
- Contractor sheet prints, or saves as a PDF, only the finishes your client approved, so site orders exactly those codes.
- Once ordered, an item is never edited in place: it is replaced or cancelled with a reason that stays on record.
- Add option photos while your client chooses, and site photos once it is ordered.
What your client sees
Your client sees each finish waiting for their choice, with your option photos, and taps I like it or I want a change. They can add a photo of an idea they like. After choosing, they follow the item through ordered, delivered and fitted.
Approvals on the link need the client link, from the Pro plan. Specs themselves are on every plan.
