FAQ

PDF report questions

Does the project report show things I kept from my client?

No. It shows only what your client's link shows. Drawings you have not shown, and visits or snags set to Only your studio, are left out.

Can I send a PDF on WhatsApp?

Yes. On a phone, each PDF opens your share sheet, so you can send it on WhatsApp or by email, or save it. On a computer, it downloads.

Where are the fee statement and receipts?

In the project's Fees tab, which only the studio owner sees. Each payment has its own receipt, and Fee statement puts every stage and payment in one PDF.

More about PDF reports

A site visit report in one tap

Clients, contractors and consultants still like a document they can keep. Every site visit in the Diary has a PDF button. It makes a site visit report with the project, the visit date, your notes and photos, and whether the visit was verified on site. On a phone it opens the share sheet, so the report can go on WhatsApp or email straight from site.

The project report

Project report, at the top of every project, puts the recent life of a job on paper: how often someone was on site and what they saw, what is waiting on the client and what is waiting on the studio, where each drawing stands, which snags were fixed, with before and after photos, and what is still open, including site queries and their needed-by dates.

With a stage plan, it adds the plan: where it stands, plan against real, every stage with its dates and the client's sign-off, and what the current stage still needs from the client. It shows only what the client link shows, so a visit you kept to your studio never slips into a report.

Statements, registers and notes

  • Fee statement: every fee stage, every payment and the balance in one PDF, with a receipt for each payment. Both are in the Fees tab, which only the studio owner sees.
  • Drawing register: every drawing, its current revision and who it was issued to, from Share PDF in the Register tab.
  • Extra work note: the change, its cost or saving, the days it adds and its status.
  • Contractor sheet: a print or PDF of only the finishes your client approved, from the Specs tab.

Better than a report typed up at night

Writing a site report in a word processor after the visit takes an evening, and it is out of date by the next one. Here the PDF is made from what is already in the project, with your studio's name on it and in your studio's language. Nothing is retyped, and the numbers in the report match what you see in the app.

On Studio and up you can also get a site report written for you from your photos and voice notes, as a draft you read before saving. See the site diary.
